There is always jeopardy in speaking in absolutes (such as we have just done :) ) and with that in mind let's just say it's generally all about the journey :)). To stagnate in one place often lends itself to regression; being aimlessly in motion to losing one's way; complacency and contentment to a precarious unknowing; over confidence to a simple missing of the point; well you understand.
We, as servants of our Shepherd, stand in awe of the fact that He still leads us, still changes us to do more, still takes the gifts that He has given to us, adds to them and reworks them to become something fresh and new again. Such are the rewards for all who choose to surrender and follow and to pursue the path that He places before them. That path, of course, is the journey.
Our journey is completing its eighteenth year and to the best of our knowledge, the Lord isn't done with us yet. Part of that journey, both spiritually and musically, is represented in the songs that you are about to hear. They speak of the importance of knowing that we all have a specific role in the here and now and that there is a joyous wisdom in being prepared for His return. They invite us to be ever mindful of remaining under His protection in the battle that only He was meant to fight and that only He can win.
We are reminded of the importance of continued prayer both in the ordinary day to day events and in those that extend themselves into the demanded extraordinariness of our lives.
Also, not to be forgotten, is the meaningfulness of praise for a God who never forsakes us and who always forgives us and who is fully present in the quiet moments of singular relationship. It is in this God who gently prods us to be providers for one another, certain of His protection and confident of His promise of a life eternal in His care and in His Kingdom.
As always, we can never thank Him or you enough. Enjoy the journey; prayed blessings for the ride.
