Servants of the Shepherd, About Us |
|
Servants of the Shepherd, lovingly called SOTS, was originally begun more than 19 years ago by George Cooper and Alex Accardo. Their spiritual beliefs and trust in the Lord have been the center of and the success of their ministry. George and Alex have been working in the kingdom in a variety of ways which including composing, arranging, producing, singing and mentoring. When they raise their voices in song, you can truly feel the love of God.
Servants has recently grown to include new talented musicians: David Dyott on Lead guitar, George Degener on Bass, Maureen Cooper on vocals/electronic woodwind/percussion and Chris Watras on drums. Pattie is our sound technician.
The group performs original songs that consist of foot tapping and hand clapping melodies that are thought provoking and whose words and heartfelt tunes allow you to feel that “God is in the House”! SOTS nave appeared in many venues including church/worship settings, Christians Fund raising events, Christians coffee houses, church picnics and concert settings. This is all done to impart and continue the group’s mission of promoting the word of God, so many will come to Him and know His love. The group has a chemistry that is so visible when they are ministering. The trained soft velvety voice of Alex mixes perfectly with the warm full bodied gritty voice of George. They sing what they believe and believe what they sing. The harmonies and melodies intertwine and tell a story. They are real, spirit filled, energized, serious and sometimes downright silly. They go about the Lord’s work and they have fun doing so. God loves a joyful giver. Servants has been privileged to perform with many gifted artists and have had their original pieces showcased on EWTN/Telecare, Access TV, Rick Jordan Ministries, Hope for the Future and… SOTS is currently recording their 7th CD and there is so much more to come. One of their songs is part of a collection put together by Samantha’s Li’ Bit of Heaven. The group is frequently introduced as “our most beloved band” and has received many blessing from the Lord. They are currently working on having their music published. As George says, “we will keep going as long as God needs us.”

Servant's Has Some New Servants!!! |
|
Alex and George are so exited to announced that
Servants has 3 new Servants; New Band Members.
David Dyott, George Degener (Degster) and Chris Watras
We welcome them to our family and want to let you know about the new excitement and sound they lend to the band.
David attended Texas Tech and is a classically trained musician. He is awesome on the lead and acoustic guitar. David has also played bass for Servants. He has been a welcome addition to the band on and off for about 1 year.
George (Degster) is on the bass. George is a self taught musician, loves music and has been playing bass for 30 years. He is a faithful member of the St Mary's Worship team and plays with a Jazz group. Degster plays a mean bass guitar, has a warm welcoming smile and is a joy to have as part of Servants.
Both David and Degster also have wonderful voices and add many additional levels and layers of harmony.
Chris is our newest member. He is a gifted drummer called by God to use his talents for His greater honor and glory.
The joy, enthusiasm and the love of the Lord that they bring to Servants of the Shepherd is easy to see on their faces. They exude the light of Jesus.
We have already begun recording our next CD with them and we can feel God at work.
So come and welcome them, say hello and enjoy the new sound of Servants of the Shepherd.
