~ Alex M. Accardo ~
As he reflects on the events of his childhood and the years following his graduation from high school, Alex clearly sees the mighty hand of God at work in his life. He learned to play the saxophone in grade school and enjoyed singing in his high school chorus. He then began acting in summer stock musicals which ultimately led to auditions in Manhattan and five years touring the country with lead roles in musicals such as Fiddler On The Roof, Yankee Doodle Dandee and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.
On one of his return trips to Long Island, NY, Alex met and ultimately married his wife, Camille. They have two beautiful daughters and two lovely granddaughters.
His love of God and music would soon lead Alex to accept a position as music minister at the church that he had attended as a child. In addition to his responsibilities as a music minister, Alex directed shows such as Godspell and authored and directed a Christmas musical titled Emmanuel.
He and the church choir appeared in Peace Child, a musical sponsored by his church. It was there that he met a singer/ guitar player named George Cooper. They soon became friends and this friendship led to the formation of Servants of The Shepherd.
In addition to his musical contributions to ‘Servants’, Alex has been instrumental as a songwriter and recording engineer for the group’s albums. He also records the music of other local Christian artists in his home studio.
